Confidentiality & Privacy Policy
The law protects the relationship between a client and a psychotherapist, and information cannot be disclosed without written permission.
Exceptions include:
- Suspected child abuse or dependent adult or elder abuse, for which I am required by law to report this to the appropriate authorities immediately.
- If a client is threatening serious bodily harm to another person/s, I must notify the police and inform the intended victim.
- If a client intends to harm himself or herself, I will make every effort to enlist their cooperation in ensuring their safety. If they do not cooperate, I will take further measures without their permission that are provided to me by law in order to ensure their safety.
Cancellation Policy
We require a 24-hour notice to cancel all sessions. Please contact us if you are unable to keep your scheduled appointment in order to avoid being charged for the session. Please arrive at least 5 minutes prior to your scheduled time. If you are late, your session will end at 50 minutes from your scheduled time, and you will still be charged for a full session.
We only work with clients who are in non-emergency situations. If you need immediate assistance or if you are having a medical or a life threatening emergency, please call 911 or your local crisis team.
Insurance and Payment
We accept cash, check, major credit cards, and major insurances. For those who do not have insurance coverage, a sliding scale will be used to determine the payment amount based on your income.
